Hello to all !
In this last post, I would like to tell a little about myself. In my childhood, I was always very much applied to school, I loved to learn about natural sciences. During several years of my life, I dedicated myself to investigate more about biology and chemistry, even in high school I chose to take scientific courses rather than humanities. I was always interested in working with animals, so I wanted to study marine biology because I was also passionate about the sea.
As time went by, I realized that my place was not with animals and nature, but that my interest was in social action. I started to get involved with the student demands of my school, I actively participated in protests, I got involved in the political events of the country and decided to engage in activism with social organizations. Thus, in 2017, I came to "Amnistía Internacional", a global organization that fights for human rights in vulnerable societies.
For two years, I participated in an organization called "Escuela es mi Cuerpa", a group composed of young people from different parts of the country who fought against sexist education in schools. We held conferences in vulnerable schools, helped create gender organizations in schools that did not have them and also participated in the construction of a legal decree so that trans people could use their names in their schools.
(The tallest one with a denim jacket is me!)
With all the activism I did in those years, I decided to study Sociology. With my skills, I want to build a better world for sexual diversity, contributing to improve their lives through community actions.
Life is a box full of surprises!! I´m glad that despite changing your likes from science to humanities, you kept that spirit of make the world a better place. Never give up! :)
